The cure is taken

Our team showed absolutely different defense in the deciding game of the BEKO PBL quarterfinal series against Krasnye Krylia and that changed the situation completely. CSKA also demonstrated effective offense and that led to the win with big margin.

CSKA vs. Krasnye Krylia Samara: 101-73 (+28)

Jonas Kazlauskas, CSKA head coach:
I am very glad to see how our team responded in this difficult situation. The defense was a key to the game. We were discussing on a choice of defensive schemes a lot and the ones we chose led us to the success. When the margin became big many players showed themselves. Everyone had its own task. Gordon wasn’t that good in completing it, probably he played too carefully toward himself after injury. Smodis was left on the bench, because I see no sense in playing such a famous and experienced player when the team is leading big. What kind of experience can he earn from it? That’s why the other players were on the floor, the ones who need more playing time.
